Prayer to Our Lady for Protection Against All Danger

Mother of Jesus,
be our protector and defender
against all that is harmful or evil.
Bring our needs before the Almighty God,
that we may be surrounded by God’s Holy Angels,
and give us the grace to conquer every danger
and overcome all that would threaten our health and well being.

(State your intention(s) here...)

Be for us light in times of darkness,
strength when we are weak,
wisdom in our confusion,
healing in times of illness,
and courage to work through life’s problems and difficulties.
Give us joy when we are sad,
bread to feed our hunger,
and eternal life to defeat the power of death.

Virgin Mary, guide our life-journey,
so that we may always walk safely
together with you and your Divine Son, Jesus Christ
in God’s loving friendship.
Amen.

The Most Holy Rosary

Sign of the Cross

In the Name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.

Opening Prayers

Apostle’s Creed:

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into hell; the third day, He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father Almighty;
from there He will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.
Amen.

Lord’s Prayer:

Our Father, who art in Heaven,
hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

For an increase in the virtues of faith, hope and charity, we pray:

An Act of Faith (optional)

O my God, I firmly believe
that You are one God in three Divine Persons,
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit;
I believe that Your Divine Son became man and died for our sins,
and that He will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches,
because You revealed them, who can neither deceive nor be deceived.

Hail Mary…

An Act of Hope (optional)

O my God, relying on Your infinite goodness and promises,
I hope to obtain pardon of my sins,
the help of Your grace, and life everlasting,
through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer.

Hail Mary…

An Act of Charity (optional)

O my God, I love You above all things,
with my whole heart and soul,
because You are all-good and worthy of all love.
I love my neighbor as myself for the love of You.
I forgive all who have injured me,
and I ask pardon of all whom I have injured.
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God,
Have mercy on me, a sinner.

Hail Mary…

Glory Be:

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen.

The Luminous Mysteries

The First Luminous Mystery – The Baptism of Jesus in the Jordan

Lord, through the intercession of Mary,
Your most faithful Spouse,
grant me the grace of openness to Your guidance
and fidelity to my baptismal vows.

John the Baptist appeared in the desert
proclaiming a baptism of repentance
for the forgiveness of sins.
People of the whole Judean countryside
and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem
were going out to him
and were being baptized by him
in the Jordan River
as they acknowledged their sins.
And this is what he proclaimed:
“One mightier than I is coming after me.
I have baptized you with water;
he will baptize you with the holy Spirit.”
Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee
and was baptized in the Jordan by John.
On coming up out of the water
he saw the heavens being torn open
and the Spirit, like a dove,
descending upon him.
And a voice came from the heavens,
“You are my beloved Son;
with you I am well pleased.”
(MK 1:4-5,7a,8-9*,10-11)

Our Father…

The Second Luminous Mystery – The First Miracle at the wedding Feast of Cana

Lord, through the intercession of Mary,
Your most benevolent Mother,
grant me the grace of sincerity and generosity in your service,
so as to be transformed from the common to the finest.

There was a wedding in Cana of Galilee,
and the mother of Jesus was there.
When the wine gave out,
the mother of Jesus said to him,
“They have no wine.”
And Jesus said to her,
“Woman, what concern is that to you and to me?
My hour has not yet come.”
His mother said to the servants,
“Do whatever he tells you.”
Now standing there were six stone water jars
for the Jewish rites of purification,
each holding twenty or thirty gallons.
Jesus said to them,
“Fill the jars with water.”
And they filled them up to the brim.
He said to them, “Now draw some out,
and take it to the chief steward.”
When the steward tasted the water that had become wine,
and did not know where it came from
the steward called the bridegroom and said to him,
“Everyone serves the good wine first,
and then the inferior wine
after the guests have become drunk.
But you have kept the good wine until now.
Jesus did this,
the first of his signs,
in Cana of Galilee,
and revealed his glory;
and his disciples believed in him.
(Jn 2:1*,3-8*,9*-11)

Our Father…

Hail Mary with expansion on the Holy Name of Jesus (10 times):
Hail Mary, full of grace.
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women
and blessed is the fruit of thy wombJesus
who manifested his power at your intercession in Cana.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Glory be…
O my Jesus…
or: Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord…
O Mary, conceived without sin…

The Third Luminous Mystery – The Proclamation of the Kingdom of God and the Call to Conversion

Lord, through the intercession of Mary,
Your most merciful Daughter,
grant me the grace of trusting in your mercy,
awareness of your kingdom within us,
and true repentance.

From that time Jesus began to proclaim,
“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
Jesus went throughout Galilee,
teaching in their synagogues
and proclaiming the Gospel of the kingdom
and curing every disease
and every sickness among the people.
Then he began to speak, and taught them, saying:
“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will receive mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted
for righteousness’ sake,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
(Mt 4:17,23,25,5:-2-10)

Our Father…

now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

or: Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord…
O Mary, conceived without sin…

The Fourth Luminous Mystery – The Transfiguration of our Lord

Lord, through the intercession of Mary,
Your most radiant Mother,
grant me the grace of spiritual fortitude
and the desire for holiness.

Jesus took with him Peter and John and James,
and went up on the mountain to pray.
And he was transfigured before them,
and his face shone like the sun,
and his clothes became dazzling white.
Suddenly they saw two men,
Moses and Elijah, talking to him.
Peter said to Jesus,
“Master, it is good for us to be here;
let us make three dwellings,
one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
While he was still speaking,
suddenly a bright cloud overshadowed them,
and from the cloud a voice said,
“This is my Son, the Beloved;
with him I am well pleased;
listen to him!”
When the disciples heard this,
they fell to the ground
and were overcome by fear.
But Jesus came and touched them, saying,
“Get up and do not be afraid.”
(Lk 9:28; Mt 17:2; Lk 9:30,33*; Mt 17:5-7)

The Fifth Luminous Mystery – The Institution of the Holy Eucharist in the Last Supper

Lord, through the intercession of Mary,
Your most loving Mother,
grant me the grace of a deep and intimate love for You
in the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar,
where You give us Your body and blood.

Then [Jesus] took a loaf of bread
and when he had given thanks,
he broke it and gave it to them, saying,
“This is my body,
which is given for you.
Do this in remembrance of me.”
Then he took a cup,
and after giving thanks
he gave it to them, saying,
“Drink from it, all of you;
for this is my blood of the new covenant,
which is poured out for many
for the forgiveness of sins.”

“I am the living bread that came down from heaven.
Whoever eats of this bread will live forever;
and the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.
Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood have eternal life,
and I will raise them up on the last day.”
(Lk 22:19; Mt 26:27-28; Jn 6:51,54)

Our Father…
