Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus for All Souls

O Divine Heart of Jesus,
grant I pray Thee,
eternal rest to the Souls in Purgatory,
the final grace to those who are about to die this day,
true repentance to sinners,
the light of faith to pagans,
and Thy blessing to me and to all who are dear to me.
To Thee, therefore, O Most Merciful Heart of Jesus,
I commend all these souls,
and in their behalf I offer unto Thee
all Thy merits
in union with the merits of Thy Most Blessed Mother
and of all the Angels and Saints,
together with all the Masses, Communions,
prayers and good works
which are this day being offered throughout Christendom.

O Most Holy Heart of Jesus,
shower Thy blessings in abundant measure
upon Thy Holy Church,
upon the Supreme Pontiff
and upon all the clergy;
to the just, grant perseverance;
convert sinners;
enlighten unbelievers;
bless our relations, friends and benefactors;
assist the dying;
deliver the Holy Souls in Purgatory;
and extend over all hearts
the sweet empire of Thy love.
Amen.

Prayer for Those Suffering in Purgatory

O Lord, who art ever merciful and bounteous with Thy gifts,
look down upon the suffering souls in purgatory.
Remember not their offenses and negligences,
but be mindful of Thy loving mercy,
which is from all eternity.
Cleanse them of their sins
and fulfill their ardent desires
that they may be made worthy
to behold Thee face to face in Thy glory.
May they soon be united with Thee
and hear those blessed words
which will call them to their heavenly home:
"Come, blessed of My Father,
take possession of the kingdom prepared for you
from the foundation of the world."

Prayer for the Souls in Purgatory Through Jesus and Mary

Heavenly Father,
in union with the merits of Jesus and Mary,
I offer to You
for the sake of the poor souls
all the satisfactory value of my works during life,
as well as all that will be done for me after death.
I give You my all
through the hands of the Immaculate Virgin Mary
that she may set free
whatever souls she pleases,
according to her heavenly wisdom
and mother's love for them.
Recieve this offering, O God,
and grant me in return
an increase of Your grace.
Amen.

R. to the voice of my supplication.

R. my soul hath hoped in the Lord.
V. From the morning watch even until night,
R. let Israel hope in the Lord.
V. Because with the Lord there is mercy,

V. And he shall redeem Israel
R. from all his iniquities.

Apostle's Creed

Lord's Prayer

Act of Faith:
O my God, I firmly believe
that you are one God in three divine Persons,
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
I believe that your divine Son became man
and died for our sins
and that he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe these and all the truths
which the Holy Catholic Church teaches
because you have revealed them
who are eternal truth and wisdom,
who can neither deceive nor be deceived.
In this faith I intend to live and die.
Amen.

Hail Mary

Act of Hope:
O Lord God, I hope by your grace
for the pardon of all my sins
and after life here to gain eternal happiness
because you have promised it
who are infinitely powerful, faithful,
kind, and merciful.
In this hope I intend to live and die.
Amen.

Hail Mary

Act of Love:
O Lord God, I love you above all things
and I love my neighbor for your sake
because you are the highest, infinite and perfect good,
worthy of all my love.
In this love I intend to live and die.
Amen.

Hail, Holy Queen (Salve Regina):

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of mercy,
Our life, our sweetness, and our hope!
To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve.
To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us.
And after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
O Clement, O Loving, O Sweet Virgin Mary.

V. Pray for us, o Holy Mother of God,
R. that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
V. Make me worthy to praise you, O holy Virgin.
R. Give me strength against your enemies.
V. Blessed be God in His Saints.
R. Amen.

Let us pray:

O God, whose only begotten Son,
by His life, death and resurrection
has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life.
Grant, we beseech Thee, that while meditating on these Mysteries
of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
we may imitate what they contain
and obtain what they promise,
through the same Christ, our Lord.
Amen.

V. May the divine assistance remain always with us.
R. Amen.
V. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
R. Amen.
V. And may Almighty God bless us: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
R. AMEN.

Closing Prayers

God our Father,
Your power brings us to birth,
Your providence guides our lives,
and by Your command we return to dust.
Lord, those who die still live in Your presence,
their lives change but do not end.
We pray in hope for our family, relatives and friends,
and for all the dead known to You alone.
In company with Christ,
Who died and now lives,
may they rejoice in Your kingdom,
where all our tears are wiped away.
Unite us together again in one family,
to sing Your praise forever and ever.
Amen.

Petition for the Souls in Purgatory

O Lord, You always love to distribute Mercy and Graces.
For this reason,
I never cease asking of You
to think of the souls of Your servants
whom You have taken from this world.
Do not leave them under the power of the enemy
and do not ever forget them.
Order Your Holy Angels to take and lead them
to their heavenly home.
They hoped for You,
they believed in You.
So do not let them endure
the punishments of Purgatory,
but let them have the Eternal Joys.
Through Christ, Our Lord.
Amen.

Prayer of Cardinal Newman for the Poor Souls in Purgatory

O most gentle Heart of Jesus,
ever present in the Blessed Sacrament,
ever consumed with burning love
for the poor captive souls in Purgatory,
have mercy on them.
Be not severe in Your judgments,
but let some drops of Your Precious Blood
fall upon the devouring flames.
And, Merciful Savior, send Your angels
to conduct them to a place of refreshment, light and peace.
Amen.
