Novenas and Intercessory Prayers for Monday

Sign of the Cross

In the Name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Novena to the Holy Family

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph,
bless me and grant me the grace
of loving the Holy Church as I should,
above every earthly thing,
and of ever showing my love by deeds.

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph,
bless me and grant me the grace
of openly professing as I should,
with courage and without human respect,
the faith that I received
as your gift in holy Baptism.

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph,
bless me and grant me the grace
of sharing as I should
in the defense and propagation
of the Faith when duty calls,
whether by word or by the sacrifice
of my possessions and my life.

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph,
bless me and grant me the grace
of loving my family and others
in mutual charity as I should,
and establish us in perfect harmony
of thought, will, and action,
under the rule and guidance
of the shepherds of the Church.

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph,
bless me and grant me the grace
of conforming my life fully as I should
to the commandments of Godís law
and those of His Holy Church,
so as to live always
in that charity which they set forth.

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph,
I ask in particular this special favor:

Dedication of Oneís Family

Most loving Jesus,
by Your sublime and beautiful virtues
of humility, obedience, poverty,
modesty, charity,
patience, and gentleness,
You blessed with peace and happiness
the family which You chose on earth.
In Your mercy look upon my family.
We belong to You,
for we have received Your many blessings
over many years
and we entrust ourselves to Your loving care.

Look upon my family in Your loving kindness,
preserve us from danger,
give us help in time of need,
and grant us the grace to persevere to the end
in imitation of Your holy Family,
so that having revered You
and loved You faithfully on earth,
we may praise You eternally in heaven.

Mary, dearest Mother,
to your intercession we have recourse,
knowing that your Divine Son will hear your prayers.
Glorious patriarch, Saint Joseph,
help us by your powerful prayers
and offer our prayers to Jesus
through Maryís hands.

Amen.

Novena to Our Lady of Good Health

O Most Holy Virgin!
You were chosen by the Most Adorable Trinity
from all eternity to be the most pure Mother of Jesus.

O Tender Mother of the afflicted!
Grant me under my present necessities
that special protection You have promised
to those who devoutly commemorate this ineffable joy.
Relying on the infinite mercies of your Divine Son,
trusting in the promise which He has made
that those who ask should receive,
and penetrated with confidence in your powerful prayers,
I most humbly entreat you intercede for me.
I beg you to obtain for me the favours
which I petition for in this novena,
if it be the Holy Will of God to grant them;
to ask for me whatever graces I most stand in need of.

(Here specify your requests...)

O Mother of God,
accept these salutations
in union with the respect and veneration
with which the Angel Gabriel first hailed you,
"Full of Grace".

Say nine times the Hail Mary….

I beseech you, O comfortress of the afflicted,
by the joy you received,
when the word was made flesh,
to obtain for me the favours and graces,
which I have now implored through your powerful intercession.
For this end I offer you all the good works
which have even been performed in your honour.
I most humbly entreat you
for the love of the amiable Heart of Jesus,
with which yours was ever so inflamed,
to hear my humble prayers
and to obtain my requests.

Amen.

Novena Prayer for the Intercession of St. Pope John Paul II

O Blessed Trinity,
we thank You for having graced the Church
with St. Pope John Paul II,
and for allowing the tenderness of your Fatherly care,
the glory of the cross of Christ,
and the splendor of the Holy Spirit,
to shine through him.

Trusting fully in Your infinite mercy
and in the maternal intercession of Mary,
he has given us a living image of Jesus
the Good Shepherd,
and has shown us that holiness
is the necessary measure
of ordinary Christian life
and is the way of achieving
eternal communion with you.

Grant us, by his intercession,
and according to Your will,
the graces we implore,
knowing that he is numbered among Your saints.

Amen.

[Mention your requests here.]

Our Father…
Hail Mary…
Glory be…

Prayer to St. Pope John Paul II (from the Vatican):

O, St. Pope John Paul II,
look down from the window of heaven
and grant us your blessing.
Bless the church which you loved, served and shepherded,
bravely leading it through the worldís vicissitudes
to bring Jesus to the whole world
and the whole world to Jesus.

Bless the young, who were your great passion:
renew their dreams,
renew the vision from on high,
that they may find the light that illuminates
the paths of life here below.

Bless our families, bless every family:
You felt Satanís assault
against the precious and vital divine spark
that God kindled on earth.
St. Pope John Paul II,
by your prayers, protect the family
and every life that blossoms from the family.

Pray for the whole world,
which is still marked by tension, war and injustice.
You fought war by invoking dialogue
and sowing the seeds of love.
Pray for us, that we may be tireless sowers of peace.

O St. Pope John Paul II,
from the window of heaven,
where we see you next to Mary,
send Godís blessing down upon us all.

Amen.

Novena to St. Gabriel, The Archangel

Saint Gabriel the Archangel,
I venerate you as the Angel of the Incarnation,
because God specially appointed you
to bear the messages concerning the God-Man
to Daniel, Zechariah, and the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Give me a very tender and devoted love
for the Incarnate Word and his Blessed Mother,
more like your own.

I venerate you also as the ďStrength from GodĒ,
because you are the giver of Godís strength,
consoler and comforter
chosen to strengthen Godís faithful
and teach them important truths.
I ask for the grace
of a special power of the will
to strive for holiness of life.
Steady my resolutions;
renew my courage;
comfort and console me in the problems,
trials and sufferings of daily living,
as you consoled our Savior in his agony
and Mary in her sorrows
and Joseph in his trials.
I put my confidence in you.

Saint Gabriel, I ask you especially for this favor:
(mention your request).
Through your earnest love
for the Son of God made man
and for his Blessed Mother,
I beg of you,
intercede for me
that my request may be granted,
if it be Godís holy will.

Pray for us, Saint Gabriel the Archangel.
That we may be worthy of the promises of Christ.†

Let us Pray:
Almighty and ever-living God,
since You chose the Archangel Gabriel from among all the Angels
to announce the mystery of Your Son's Incarnation,
mercifully grant that we who honor him on earth
may feel the benefit of his patronage in heaven.
You live and reign for ever.
Amen.

Prayer for the Souls in Purgatory

O Lord, God of holiness and light,
You do not allow any shadow of darkness or evil in Your sight
and so in Your mercy You grant to those
who have left this world burdened with sin,
a time of purification,
applying to them the spiritual treasures of Your Holy Church.
Hear my prayer and through the merits of Christ,
the Blessed Virgin, the Saints, and all of Your faithful people,
bring to an end this time of waiting
for our beloved dead whom I commend to Your mercy.
In Your providence, Lord,
You have chosen Saint Nicholas of Tolentino
as a special intercessor on behalf of the departed;
hear also his fervent prayer
for those whom I recommend to You,
through his intercession.

Saint Nicholas, you were attentive
to the pleas of many needy souls
and through your prayer and penance
you hastened their enjoyment of the vision of God.
Look with compassion on our beloved deceased,
and obtain for them by your prayers
the full forgiveness of their sins
so that they may experience the happiness and peace
of the Fatherís presence.
Amen.

Jesus and Mary, I love you, save souls! [three times]

Saint Nicholas of Tolentino, pray for us.

O Jesus, You suffered and died that all mankind
might be saved and brought to eternal happiness.
Hear our pleas for further mercy on the souls of:

[For the following, respond with: Jesus, have mercy.]

Grant them eternal rest, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them
with your Saints forever more
because You are gracious.

Amen.
