In the Name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
While deep silence dwelt on earth
and the night was in the midst of its course,
the Almighty Word came down from His throne.
O loving Virgin Mary and blessed Saint Joseph,
help us to pray this novena with devotion and love,
joining the angels in giving glory to God.
V. O Divine Infant of Bethlehem,
whom we adore and acknowledge as our Lord and God!
R. Come and take birth in our hearts.
V. O Infant Jesus,
grant we may honor that moment
when you began the work of our salvation.
V. Holy Mother of our Infant Savior,
help us to prepare ourselves for His coming
and to be united with Him for all eternity.
Let us pray:
Most Holy Infant Jesus,
true God and true Man,
our Savior and Redeemer,
we beg You, by your charity,
humility and love,
to grant us the favor we now ask,
if it be for the honor of God and our salvation…
(Here mention your request.)
O most loving Infant Jesus,
we are unworthy to be heard;
but your Holy Mother, the Virgin Mary
and St. Joseph, your foster father on earth,
are worthy to be heard.
Mindful of their merits,
as they served you in Bethlehem and Nazareth,
grant our request.
Grant us to promote the honor of your divine infancy,
to serve you all our lives
and to obtain a happy death,
assisted by the Blessed Virgin and St. Joseph,
and praise and bless your divine mercy forever and ever.†
O Most Blessed Mother,
heart of love,
heart of mercy,
ever listening, caring, consoling,
hear my prayer.
As your child,
I implore your intercession with Jesus your Son.
Receive with understanding and compassion
the petitions I place before you today,
(State your intentions here...)
I am comforted in knowing
your heart is ever open
to those who ask for your prayer.
I trust to your gentle care and intercession,
those whom I love and who are sick
or lonely or hurting.
Help all of us, Holy Mother,
to bear our burdens in this life
until we may share eternal life
and peace with God forever.
by the holy will of your Son,
my Lord Jesus Christ,
you are my Mother in Heaven.
Your Immaculate Heart is full of love,
mercy and compassion
for sinners like me.
I ask that you intercede for me today for…
(mention your prayer intentions)
I trust in your intercession
before the throne of God for my needs.
Please pray also that if my requests
are not in accordance with the will of God,
that I may be, like you,
conformed to His will and not my own.
Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Pray for us!
[by Pope Pius XII]
Most Holy Virgin Mary,
tender Mother of all people,
to fulfill the desires of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
and the request of the Vicar of Your Son on earth,
we consecrate ourselves and our families
to your Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart,
O Queen of the Most Holy Rosary,
and we recommend to You,
all the people of our country and all the world.
Please accept our consecration, dearest Mother,
and use us as You wish
to accomplish Your designs in the world.
O Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary,
Queen of the Most Holy Rosary,
and Queen of the World,
rule over us,
together with the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, Our King.
Save us from the spreading flood of modern paganism;
kindle in our hearts and homes the love of purity,
the practice of a virtuous life,
an ardent zeal for souls,
and a desire to pray the Rosary more faithfully.
We come with confidence to You,
O Throne of Grace
and Mother of Fair Love.
Inflame us with the same Divine Fire
which has inflamed Your own Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart.
Make our hearts and homes Your shrine,
and through us, make the Heart of Jesus,
together with your rule,
triumph in every heart and home.
O Eternal Father,
Who are in heaven,
where You do crown the merits of those
who in this world serve you faithfully,
for the sake of the most pure love
Your little daughter Thérèse of the Child Jesus had for You,
so as all but to bind You
to give her whatever she desires,
seeing that while on earth
she always did Your will,
incline Your ears to the petitions
which she offers up to You on my behalf,
and hear too my prayers
by granting me the grace I ask.
O Eternal Son of God,
You Who have promised to reward the least service
rendered to You in the person of our neighbour,
cast a glance of gentle love
on Your little spouse Thérèse of the Child Jesus
who, with such great zeal,
Had ever at heart the salvation of souls,
and for the sake of all she has done and suffered,
lend a willing ear to her wish
of spending her heaven doing good upon earth,
and grant me the grace
I plead for so earnestly from You.
O Eternal Holy Spirit,
Who did make perfect
with so many graces
the beloved soul of St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus,
I beseech You, for the sake of the fidelity
she showed in ever corresponding with Your graces,
to incline Your ear to the prayers
she offers to You on my behalf,
and having before You her promise
of letting fall from heaven
a shower of roses,
mercifully grant me the grace
of which I stand in such need.
O St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus,
who during your short life on earth
became a mirror of angelic purity,
of love strong as death,
and of wholehearted abandonment to God,
now that you rejoice in the reward of your virtues,
cast a glance of pity on me
as I leave all things in your hands.
Make my troubles your own,
speak a word for me to Our Lady Immaculate,
whose flower of special love you were to that Queen of Heaven
"who smiled on you at the dawn of life."
Beg her powerful intercession
the grace I yearn for so ardently at this moment,
and that she join with it a blessing
that may strengthen me during life,
defend me at the hour of death,
and lead me straight on to a happy eternity.
(State your intention here...)
O God, who did inflame with the Spirit of Love,
the soul of your servant Thérèse of the Child Jesus,
grant that we also may love you
and make you much loved.
O Little Thérèse of the Child Jesus,
please pick for me a rose
from the heavenly gardens
and send it to me as a message of love.
O Little Flower of Jesus,
ask God today to grant the favours
I now place with confidence in your hands...
(Make your request here...)
help me to always believe as you did,
in Godís great love for me,
so that I might imitate
your ‘Little Way’ each day.
Blessed Saint Gabriel, the Archangel
We beseech you to intercede for us
at the throne of divine mercy:
As you announced the mystery of the Incarnation to Mary,
so through your prayers
may we receive strength of faith
and courage of spirit,
and thus find favor with God
and redemption through Christ Our Lord.
May we sing the praise of God our Savior
with the angels and saints in heaven
forever and ever.
All you holy angels and archangels,
thrones and dominations,
principalities and powers,
the virtues of Heaven,
cherubim and seraphim,
praise the Lord forever.
O Holy Angels,
watch over us at all times
during this perilous life:
O holy Archangels,
be our guides on the way to heaven;
O heavenly choir of the Principalities,
govern us in soul and body;
O mighty Powers,
preserve us against the wiles of the demons;
O celestial Virtues,
give us strength and courage
in the battle of life;
O powerful Dominations,
obtain for us dominion
over the rebellion of our flesh;
O sacred Thrones,
grant us peace with God and man;
O brilliant Cherubim,
illuminate our minds with heavenly knowledge;
O burning Seraphim,
enkindle in our hearts
the fire of charity.
Guardian Angel, watch over those
whose names you can read in my heart.
Guard over them with every care
and make their way easy
and their labours fruitful.
Dry their tears if they weep;
sanctify their joys;
raise their courage if they weaken;
restore their hope if they lose heart,
their health if they be ill
and repentance if they fail.
O most Faithful companion,
appointed by God
to be my guide and protector,
and who are ever at my side,
what thanks can I offer you
for your faithfulness and love,
and for all the benefits
which you have conferred upon me?
You watch over me in sleep;
you console me when I am sad;
you lift me up when I fall;
you avert the dangers that threaten me;
you prepare me for the future;
you withdraw me from evil
and urge me towards good;
you exhort me to penance
when I yield to temptation;
and reconcile me to my God whom I have offended.
Long since should I have been cast into hell,
unless by your prayers
you had averted from me the anger of God.
Leave me not, then, I entreat you;
but continue to comfort me in adversity,
restrain me in prosperity,
defend me in danger,
assist me in temptations,
lest at any time
I fall a victim to them.
Offer to God
my prayers and petitions,
and all my religious exercises,
and obtain for me the great gift of final perseverance,
and the grace to die
in the friendship of my Creator,
and so to enter into life everlasting.
In the Name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
