Novenas and Intercessory Prayers for Tuesday

Sign of the Cross

In the Name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Novena to the Holy Cross

Jesus, Who because of Your burning love for us
willed to be crucified
and to shed Your Most Precious Blood
for the redemption and salvation of our souls,
look down upon us
and grant the petitions we ask for

(State your intentions here...)

We trust completely in Your Mercy.
Cleanse us from sin by Your Grace,
sanctify our work,
give us and all those who are dear to us our daily bread,
lighten the burden of our sufferings,
bless our families,
and grant to the nations, so sorely afflicted,
Your Peace, which is the only true peace,
so that by obeying Your Commandments
we may come at last to the glory of Heaven.
Amen.

Prayer of St. Pio for Confidence and Trust in God’s Mercy

“O Lord, we ask for a boundless confidence
and trust in Your divine mercy,
and the courage to accept the crosses and sufferings
which bring immense goodness to our souls
and that of Your Church.

Help us to love You with a pure and contrite heart,
and to humble ourselves beneath Your cross,
as we climb the mountain of holiness,
carrying our cross
that leads to heavenly glory.

May we receive You with great faith and love in Holy Communion,
and allow You to act in us as You desire
for your greater glory.

O Jesus, most adorable Heart
and eternal fountain of Divine Love,
may our prayers find favor
before the Divine Majesty of Your heavenly Father.”

Amen.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit
as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be,
world without end.

Amen.

Novena to Our Lady of Good Remedy

O Queen of Heaven and earth,
most Holy Virgin,
we venerate you.
You are the beloved daughter of the Most High God,
the chosen mother of the Incarnate Word,
the immaculate spouse of the Holy Spirit,
the sacred vessel of the Most Holy Trinity.
O Mother of the Divine Redeemer,
who under the title of Our Lady of Good Remedy
comes to the aid of all who call upon you,
extend your maternal protection to us.
We depend on you, dear Mother,
as helpless and needy children depend
on a tender and caring mother.

Hail Mary…

O Lady of Good Remedy,
source of unfailing help,
grant that we may draw from your treasury of graces
in our time of need.
Touch the hearts of sinners,
that they may seek reconciliation and forgiveness.
Bring comfort to the afflicted and the lonely;
Help the poor and the hopeless;
aid the sick and the suffering.
May they be healed in body
and strengthened in spirit
to endure their sufferings
with patient resignation
and Christian fortitude.

Hail Mary…

Dear Lady of Good Remedy,
source of unfailing help,
your compassionate heart knows a remedy
for every affliction and misery we encounter in life.

Help us with your prayers and intercession
to find a remedy for our problems and needs,
especially for...

[State your special intentions here.]

On our part, O loving Mother,
we pledge ourselves to a more intensely Christian lifestyle,
to a more careful observance of the laws of God,
to be more conscientious in fulfilling
the obligations of our state in life,
and to strive to be a source of healing
in this broken world of ours.
Dear Lady of Good Remedy,
be ever present to us,
and through your intercession,
may we enjoy health of body and peace of mind,
and grow stronger in the faith
and in the love of your Son, Jesus.

Hail Mary…

V. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of Good Remedy,
R. That we may deepen our dedication to your Son,
and make the world alive with His Spirit.

Novena to St. Anthony of Padua

O wonderful St. Anthony,
glorious on account of the fame of your miracles,
and through the condescension of Jesus
in coming in the form of a little child to rest in your arms,
obtain for us of His bounty
the grace which we ardently desire
from the depths of our hearts.

You who were so compassionate toward miserable sinners,
regard not the unworthiness
of those who pray to you,
but the glory of God
that it may once again be magnified
by the granting of the particular requests
which we now ask for with persevering earnestness.

(State your intentions here.)

As a pledge of our gratitude,
we promise to live more faithfully
in accordance with the teachings of the Church,
and to be devoted to the service of the poor
whom you loved and still love so greatly.
Bless this resolution of ours
that we may be faithful to it until death.

Amen

In honor of St. Anthony of Padua, we pray:

Our Father…
Hail Mary…
Glory be…

St. Anthony, consoler of all the afflicted, pray for us.

St. Anthony, helper of all who invoke you, pray for us.

St. Anthony, whom the Infant Jesus loved and honored so much, pray for us.

Amen.

Novena to St. Raphael, The Archangel

Glorious Archangel Saint Raphael,
great prince of the heavenly court,
you are illustrious
for your gifts of wisdom and grace.
You are a guide of those who journey
by land or sea or air,
consoler of the afflicted,
and refuge of sinners.
We beg you,
assist us in all our needs
and in all the sufferings of this life,
as once you helped
the young Tobias on his travels.
Because you are the medicine of God,
we humbly pray you to heal
the many infirmities of our souls
and the ills that afflict our bodies.
We especially ask of you this favour,
and the great grace of purity
to prepare us to be the temples of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

(Make your requests here...)

St. Raphael,
of the glorious seven
who stand before the throne of Him
who lives and reigns,
Angel of health,
the Lord has filled your hand
with balm from heaven
to soothe or cure our pains.
Heal or cure the victim of disease.
And guide our steps when doubtful of our ways.

Amen.

Prayer Against Natural and Manmade Disasters

Loving Saviour Jesus,
a single word from You can protect us
from every perilous calamity
since by Your word alone,
the heavens, the earth and all living creatures were made.

As the Bible says,
"It is better to trust in the Lord
than to put confidence in mortals and in princes",
we trust only in You Lord.
Your word says, "those who seek the Lord
shall not lack any good thing."

We once again acknowledge that
You who made a way for Your people through the Red Sea,
You who stopped the rains for three years,
You who rebuked the storms and walked on the sea,
You are present today with the same authority and power
to save us from any calamity.

Lord, if there be any unconfessed sins in our life,
we confess them all to You
and Lord, please forgive them for us.
Help us to stand firm in You
and to live a life pleasing to You hereafter.
Wash us with Your blood
that our sins may not be an obstacle
for You to save us in the critical hour.

Keep us as the apple of Your eye
and build a hedge around us.
You have promised, "Call upon me in the day of trouble;
I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me."
Father, we know that Your righteous right hand will protect us
and keep us all safe from every disaster
as You are our refuge
and ever-present help in times of trouble.
We praise You and thank You for Your loving-kindness.

Amen.

Leader:
Almighty God, Lord of the universe,
Creator of everything,
we come to you seeking your divine protection
as we face our fears
and confront the threats that cause us anxiety.

[For the following verses, the response is: R. DELIVER YOUR PEOPLE LORD.]

Leader:
Divine Jesus, you calmed the storms
and walked over the waters.
Give us fine weather.
Shield us from distress.
Drive away from our land
all natural calamities and manmade disasters.
We entrust ourselves to you now and forever.

Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary,
pray for us.

Seven Days of Prayer for the Holy Souls in Purgatory: Tuesday

By St. Alphonsus Liguori

O Lord God omnipotent,
we beseech You by the Precious Blood,
which Your divine Son Jesus shed
in His bitter crowning with thorns,
deliver the souls in purgatory,
and among them all, particularly that soul
which is in the greatest need of our prayers,
in order that it may not long be delayed
in praising You and Your glory
and blessing You for ever.
Amen.

Blessed Souls, we have prayed for you;
we entreat you, who are so dear to God,
and who are secure of never losing Him,
to pray for us miserable sinners,
who are in danger of being damned,
and of losing God forever.
Amen.

O God, the author of mercy,
the lover of the salvation of mankind;
we address Your clemency,
in behalf of our relations, friends, and benefactors,
who are departed this life,
that by the intercession of blessed Mary, ever virgin, and of all the saints,
You would receive them into the enjoyment of eternal happiness;
through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Sign of the Cross

In the Name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
